The Mysuru Yuva Dasara, which ended on Saturday, was made extra special this year with performances by Badshah and Ilaiyaraaja, who were both very well received for their love and support for the Kannada language. Badshah performed energetic songs and concluded the event by addressing the audience in Kannada, expressing humility and gratitude. Videos of him speaking in Kannada went viral on social media after the event. Ilaiyaraaja, a renowned composer who has worked on over 30 Kannada films, also spoke in Kannada before the event and visited the Chamundeshwari temple the following day. He reminisced about his connection to Mysuru, including a memorable visit in 1974 and his role in introducing Dr Rajkumar as a singer in the Kannada film industry.
